Participating in sports and watching different sporting events are important elements of life in Manhattan, Kansas for many people of all ages. Of course, when it comes to watching athletic events, a great amount of that activity centers around the incomparable Kansas State University athletic programs. The Kansas State Wildcats are ... wildly ... popular with residents of Manhattan (and with more than a few fans across the State of Kansas).

In the end, when it comes to sports and athletics, whether you want to watch or whether you want to play, Manhattan, Kansas truly does have something for everyone ... and then some!

Kansas State Wildcats

Both the Kansas State Wildcats football and basketball programs draw a great deal of attention and fan action in Manhattan, Kansas. Indeed, the men's football team and the men's and women's basketball teams play to sellout crowds throughout their respective seasons.

One of the biggest rivalries of the year in both the football and basketball seasons is the game between Kansas State and the University of Kansas. Aggieville (the restaurant and bar district in Manhattan, Kansas) really comes alive after K-State and KU games ... whether or not K-State wins or loses. Wearing the purple in Manhattan is a must on Big Game Days.

K-State is also home to some of the finest athletic facilities in all of the country. From the Bramlage Coliseum to all of the other athletic centers on campus, athletes and fans alike are able to enjoy the best in sports in the finest college athletic venues around.

Of course, there are other athletic teams at K-State that garner a great fan following. From soccer to tennis (both men's and women's) and many other sports in between, K-State has cultivated generation after generation of staunch Wildcats fans throughout all of Manhattan and the State of Kansas.

Wildcat Creek Sports Center

The Wildcat Creek Sports Center was established to provide Manhattan, Kansas families with a wide range of different recreational activities. Visitors to Wildcat Creek can enjoy everything from golf to sand volleyball and several other great recreational activities in between.

If a person is interested in working out of fitness training, Wildcat Creek has top of the line equipment in its fitness center. In addition, personal training options are available for those people who desire the added assistance in their workout regimens. Childcare is available for those families with younger children.

Eisenhower Baseball Complex

The local school district donated at Anneberg Park in Manhattan, Kansas, for a regulation size baseball field. This field is included in the larger Eisenhower Baseball Complex, named for Dwight Eisenhower, one of Kansas' favorite Baseball and softball are hugely popular sports in Manhattan. People of all ages can be found organizing teams in a variety of different leagues.

Manhattan area schools make use of the Eisenhower Baseball Complex as do the various league baseball and softball teams that take to the diamonds each and every year.
